Privacy policy

Plain English, no surprises. Here's what happens to your information when you contact us.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Who we are

Soar Cloudworks is a sole-trader business run by Dan Curry, based in the East Midlands, UK. We are the "data controller" for the information described here. For anything in this policy, or to exercise any of your rights, email us at info@soarcloudworks.co.uk.

What we collect

The only personal information we collect is what you choose to give us:

  • When you use our contact form: your name, email address, the subject, and your message.
  • Any emails, messages or calls you send us afterwards.

We do not use website analytics, tracking cookies or advertising trackers, and we host our own fonts, so simply browsing this site does not share your information with anyone. When you submit the contact form, our systems may briefly record technical information such as your IP address as part of processing your message and guarding against spam.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information for one thing: to read and reply to your enquiry, and to carry on the conversation if you decide to work with us. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests: responding to someone who has chosen to contact us is a reasonable, expected use of their details. We do not use them for anything else.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information or add you to any marketing list. To run the website and email, we rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): processes the contact form and sends email, in AWS's London (UK) region.
  • Zoho Mail: our email inbox provider (EU data centre).
  • GoDaddy: our domain name and DNS provider.

These providers only handle your information to provide their service to us, under their own data protection terms.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for up to two years and then delete it, unless we end up working together, in which case we keep what we reasonably need for our business records. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see your rights below).

Cookies

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and uses no analytics. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and add a cookie notice.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you,
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong,
  • ask us to delete it,
  • ask us to restrict or stop using it,
  • object to our use of it.

To exercise any of these, email info@soarcloudworks.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@soarcloudworks.co.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
